Farmers Insurance recently rebranded their company, with a simple, modernized logo. As a result all of their branding materials had to change, as well, including the large illuminated signs mounted atop their high rise buildings throughout the country. Often with national account signs such as these, companies contact the most reputable sign companies to produce and install the signs for individual buildings.
There are two such locations in Westlake Village and Woodland Hills, CA. Because we had recently worked with them at their Simi Valley location, Farmers contacted us to build these large high rise building signs using their new logo.
Each building is slightly different than the last, and they wanted these gigantic channel letter signs to be as large and visible as possible. To accommodate this we visited each building and measured the height of the facade, then made the width proportional to the maximum height.
Once the signs were built, we had to remove the existing signs before installing the new ones. At the Woodland Hills location this was particularly tricky because they did not want to be disturbed during weekday business hours. This meant that most of the installation work had to be done on the weekends. This is a particularly tall building, and it required a swing stage to install it. Being limited to only weekend days, the wind forced us to postpone the installation a few times while we waited for safe conditions.
Because these large, front-lit signs are installed on such tall buildings, they are visible from great distances. The simplified logo and striking colors are very attractive, even at a simple glance.
