Dimensional Lettering Signs
If you’re considering how to make your sign “stand out,” and you’re interested in an economical option, dimensional letters are a great choice.
‘Dimensional Lettering’ refers to any lettering or logo that has three dimensions (as opposed to flat panels). Dimensional letters can also be illuminated in a number of ways. When illuminated we call these channel letters as they are fabricated pan aluminum forms with an internal lighting element. Channel letters can be back lit, face lit and numerous other options. Please see our channel letter gallery for further information.
These letters can be made of practically any material, from wood to aluminum, steel or plastic foam. There is sometimes a misconception that foam would be less expensive to build, but the reality is that materials are the smallest cost when building a sign. Regardless of the material the sign is made of, the work that goes into creating it is the same. Foam signs are for interior applications only and we never recommend them for outdoor application due to their exposure to the elements.
We often recommend half-inch acrylic for dimensional letters with concealed studs for mounting . This method creates great looking signs that are highly durable and long-lasting.
This particular type of sign is both attractive and economical, and a great choice for those who want to create a high-quality sign on a more modest budget.
