Westridge Market Metal Letter Sign
Westridge Market, a very popular Ojai grocer on the Eastern end of downtown Ojai, owns Westridge Midtown Market. The biggest difference between this new location and the original store is the location, which is pretty much the entry point to downtown Ojai.
Another market had been in the building for years, and when it became available—it was the perfect spot for Westridge’s new location. Also, because it had been a grocery store, the infrastructure was already there.
Westridge was already extremely popular in the Ojai community. So while many business owners have to think about how to make their signs eye-catching and exciting, it was our task to determine how to make it as clear as possible that this Westridge is, in fact, the same Westridge that locals already know and love.
So the exterior sign was a duplicate: fine, classy fabricated metal letters tell the market’s name. In the evening the letters are lit from above by mounted lights.
The next project was the interior: Westridge prides itself on selling healthy, local produce. It’s something like a farmer’s market that’s always open. To communicate this mission we designed and mounted colorful, glossy boards with images reminiscent of a time when grocery stores sold local, whole produce almost exclusively.
The overall effect is a full customer experience… They have entered a grocery store that takes pride not only in the food it offers. but also the community they’re creating around that food.
